TV Advertising - Not beyond Malaysian Advertisers

DISPATCHES from the NEW WORLD of MEDIA !

A Newspaper Ad in a top Malaysian Newspaper would cost you RM 40,000-50,000 for a Full Page Full Colour and the reach will be in the range of 15%-40% depending on the Target Group.

A 40X60 Billboard in a strategic Location in KL will cost the advertiser ~ RM 300,0000 – 400,000 Annualy.

So why is it that the adex spends in Malaysia is not being dominated by TV ?

Lets look at advertising in Media Prima Channels.

For Instance look at TV3
Reach of TV3 for a 15+ Audience is 35% and the Star is around 23% now the cost of putting a spot in for TV3 on Prime time is on an average RM 4000-5000.

So, off course , depending on the TVR of an individual programme wont TV3 a natural option to be looking at before going mass media,

To turn up the volume on your ad campaign by adding television spots to the mix. Many Medium sized believe that TV advertising is beyond their means.
Armed with the right information, the medium sized owner may find that TV advertising can, in fact, deliver more customers than any other type of ad campaign.
The key is to have a clear understanding of the market so the money spent on broadcast advertising isn't wasted.
Many stations suggest running ads for at least three months. This can easily cost several hundred thousand RM for a TV campaign.
The key is to minimize spots on prime time and maximize on off prime to keep your Tv campaign within budget.

And on top of that there is no measure of finding out actually how many people saw your ad in Star? Whereas AC nielson will provide clear cut numbers on post-delivery for your TV campaign.
